A Ventnor man already imprisoned on unrelated charges was indicted Wednesday in the 2006 killing of an Atlantic City man.

LaQuay Williams, 35, is accused of shooting Jerrod Moss, 20, in the head about 4:15 a.m. Dec. 29, 2005, in a parking lot on South New York Avenue.

Court records show Williams — who also goes by James Watts — was out on bail with a pending gun charge when the killing occurred.

He is currently serving a 14-year sentence in New Jersey State Prison after pleading guilty to that crime in 2007.

Following an extensive six-year investigation conducted by Major Crime detectives, Williams was charged with murder, felony murder, conspiracy to commit murder and weapons offenses.

No court dates have been set at this time.

Williams’ bail is set at $1 million full cash, although even if that were to be paid, he would remain in custody.

He is not eligible for parole until next year.
