A Somers Point man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly ran into another man with his vehicle during an argument.

Francisco Montero-Toribio, 42, of Somers Point, accelerated his Ford Expedition and hit Edgar Martinez, 32, also of Somers Point, pinning him to his Dodge Neon and causing serious injury to his right leg, Somers Point police Chief Michael Boyd said.

Martinez was taken from the scene to Atlantic City Medical Center, City Campus, in Atlantic City, where he underwent surgery and was in stable condition, Boyd said.

Somers Point police charged Montero-Toribio with aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault by auto.

He was held at the Atlantic County jail on $150,000 cash bail.
