A man was found shot on the 600 block of Howard Avenue in Atlantic City, police said Wednesday night.

Police received a call at about 6:35 p.m. from a homeowner on Howard Avenue in the area of Stanley Holmes Village who said a man was in front of his house and bleeding. The victim was conscious when units arrived. The man had been shot in the cheek and was bleeding from his nose and mouth, police said. He was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where he underwent surgery. His condition was not released.

A car police believe belongs to the victim was parked outside the home. 

About half the block was cordoned off Wednesday night, and forensics officers were processing the scene. Investigators are canvassing the neighborhood for possible witnesses.
