ATLANTIC CITY — A 20-year-old Camden County man died Tuesday night after being shot in the city, investigators said Wednesday.

Kevin Ortiz, of Somerdale, was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting that was reported at 9:19 p.m. Tuesday at South Carolina and Baltic avenues, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton said in a statement.

Police responded with detectives from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit and emergency medical technicians.

An autopsy is pending, Ruberton’s statement said.

The Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department are investigating.

This was the second shooting in the city Tuesday. Earlier in the day, shots were fired near Adriatic and Pennsylvania avenues. No one was shot, but one person was injured by glass when a bullet broke a jitney window.
