SOMERS POINT — Police arrested a man Tuesday after he struck another person with a loaded handgun, authorities said.

Police responded to an armed robbery and aggravated assault about 2:15 a.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of the Somers Point Apartments on Mays Landing Road, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

Anthony Falciani, 20, of Somers Point, allegedly struck a person in the face with a loaded handgun after he was confronted breaking into a vehicle in the lot, the post said. He then ran from the area.

The assault resulted in broken bones for the victim, police said.

Falciani was charged with robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, police said.

He was sent to the Atlantic County jail in Mays Landing on $150,000 cash bail.
