Atlantic City Police arrested and charged three suspects in connection with a car burglary in an area police say has seen increased activity.

Harry Gomez, 19, of Millville, along with two 16-year-old males, one from Atlantic City, were identified as three of four possible suspects in connection to the attempted burglary Wednesday at 3:37 a.m.

Police responded to Sovereign and Fairmount Avenues, where it was reported that four males were looking into car windows and trying the door handles, police said.

Two suspects ran away when an officer approached northbound on Sovereign Avenue, police said. One, Gomez, complied with police orders while the other two fled and hid in residential areas and yards.

Police later apprehended both, with the help of a K-9 officer.

All three were arrested and charged with burglary, but Gomez was released on summons.

The two juveniles were additionally charged with resisting arrest and obstructing the administration of law.

Police said residents should remember to lock their car doors, keep valuables out of view and report suspicious activity.

They said the area has seen an increase of reports of car burglaries and thefts.
