BUENA — A man and a woman were found shot to death in a vehicle early Saturday in what authorities are investigating as a double homicide, officials said.

Police responding to a 1:19 a.m. 911 call about shots fired in the 400 block of Wheat Road found a 34-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman shot inside a vehicle, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said in a news release Saturday. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims’ identities had not been released. Autopsies are scheduled for Sunday, Tyner said.

The address the Prosecutor’s Office provided for the case is associated with MVP Sports Bar, where a large parking lot is next to the building. A truck-and-trailer parts warehouse is across the street.

A bartender Saturday said the establishment would not comment on the incident, and people outside the bar were unwilling to talk. Bar managemnt asked a reporter to leave.
