Retired Atlantic City Police Officer Joshlee Vadell will speak at the graduation ceremony for a group of new officers Thursday, according to the Atlantic County Police Training Center.

The graduating Basic Course for Police Officers Class No. 19 will graduate after 23 weeks of police training with a certification through the New Jersey Police Training Commission. Nineteen out of 24 police recruits will be graduating Thursday from Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office, Galloway Township police, Mullica Township, Toms River and the Alternate Route Program.

The graduation will be held at 3 p.m. at the Stockton University Performing Arts Center.

Vadell retired last July while recovering from a head injury he suffered from being shot during an investigation of a robbery at Caesars Atlantic City’s parking garage.
