The state announced hundreds of grants to municipalities for various road projects on Tuesday.

Under the Municipal Aid program, 15 municipalities In Atlantic County received grants totaling $2.84 million for road reconstruction projects.

Another eight grants were awarded in Cape May county totaling just over $2 million and seven municipalities in Cumberland County received grants totaling over $1.26 million.

Three towns in Southern Ocean County received a total of $730,000.

Pleasantville also received an additional $280,000 for pedestrian enhancements near the bus terminal under another grant program.

Two towns also received grants to assist in extending bike paths. Middle Township received $360,000 for the fifth phase of its bike path and Hammonton received $230,000 for a bike path extension.

Millville was awarded $200,000 for improvements to Vine Street under the state’s Safe Streets to Transit program.
