Locals from around the area will be heading to their local parishes to receive ashes on their forehead for Ash Wednesday.

Parishioners at our Lady of Angels in Cape May Courthouse receive ashes in the sign of the cross from father John O'Leary during Ash Wednesday services on Wednesday morning.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent: a religious observance that ends on March 29 before Easter Sunday.
