LOWER TOWNSHIP — A 23-year-old man is accused of robbing a woman who had a restraining order against him and then beating his brother, police said

Around 10:20 p.m. on April 25, police were called to Maple Avenue in the Villas section for a reported robbery.

A 64-year-old woman told officers that Nicholas Alexander, 23, allegedly entered her home, assaulted her and then stole her purse and other belongings.

The woman had a temporary restraining order against Alexander, police said.

He fled when an upstairs neighbor confronted him, police said.

Moments later officers were called to 1815 Bayshore Road, where Alexander allegedly assaulted his 39-year-old brother. He was arrested a short time later and charged with violating a restraining order, domestic violence, assault, robbery, burglary and theft, police said.

He was sent to Cape May County jail on $105,000 bail.
