HAMILTON TOWNSHIP — A Mays Landing man was killed after he lost control of his motorcycle Saturday night, police said.

Jefrey Ramirez, 26, was declared dead at the scene on Babcock Road just north of the George L. Hess School after officers responded at 7:42 p.m. to a report of a motorcycle crash, police said.

Ramirez appeared to have lost control of the motorcycle while heading south on Babcock Road, police said. He hit a curb and was thrown from the motorcycle, police said.

The Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Officer pronounced Ramirez dead. The road was shut down while authorities investigated.

The Hamilton Township Rescue Squad and Mays Landing Fire Department also responded. Police were continuing to investigate.
