EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — A 49-year-old man died in a car crash Saturday night on the Black Horse Pike in the Cardiff section, police said.

Jeffrey Weiss, of the Mays Landing section of Hamilton Township, was stopped near Tower Avenue when a vehicle ran into the rear of his car, police said.

Weiss was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which was reported about 6:20 p.m., police said.

The other driver, John Rivera, 29, also of Mays Landing, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, with serious injuries, police said.

A passenger in Weiss’ car, whom police have not identified, was taken to the same hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Traffic was detoured for about six hours, police said.
