ATLANTIC CITY - The keynote speaker at the 13th annual Metropolitan Business and Citizens Association Spring Scholarship Luncheon is Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri. The luncheon is at noon on April 29 in the Swan Ballroom of the Tropicana Casino and Resort.
The association’s Education Foundation will present scholarships for students planning to continue their studies at an accredited higher education institution including the new Sun Bank Scholarship, Friedman LLP and Reliance Medical Scholarhips as well as SJI Women’s Leadership which gives a scholarship to an Atlantic County woman , Seashore Gardens Scholarship for a student in health field , the Strosser Foundation Scholarships for Atlantic City students, AC Weekly Scholarship, AC Jitney Association Scholarship and Epicurean Scholarships in the Culinary and Hospitality Programs and a Penny from Jenny scholarship, funded entirely by pennies from an Atlantic City graduate.
The ceremony will also recognize an area educator for their outstanding contributions to education with the $1,500 Epicurean Society’s Outstanding Teacher Recognition Award.
This award goes to an individual who makes a difference in the development of their students, with a unique teaching program or demonstrates resourcefulness and utilizes innovative teaching techniques.
The luncheon is sponsored by Atlantic Cape Community College, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch
