ATLANTIC CITY — Another outdoor Boardwalk bar has made its way to the resort.
Pier AC, sitting at the old Garden Pier between the Showboat Atlantic City hotel and the former Revel Casino Hotel, opened this week and celebrated in a grand opening Friday night.
The space at New Jersey Avenue and the Boardwalk brings an outdoor entertainment environment with a bar, stage and seating area that look toward the ocean, said Jersey Boyz Production managing partner Rob Erickson, a managing partner for Pier AC.
“It has been a steady increase every day,” he said. “We’re really getting local support.”
The managing partners opened the bar Wednesday. It’s open noon to midnight Sunday to Wednesday and noon to 2 a.m. Thursday to Saturday during summer.
Bart Blatstein bought that property with several lots in the Inlet section for about $6 million in February. The sites included 3 acres between the former Revel and Showboat, which he owns.
Blatstein, a Philadelphia-based developer, bought Garden Pier for $1.5 million. The managing partners from Jersey Boyz Production are leasing the space.
Pier AC’s first phase includes a stage for live music, a bar in the center with a dance floor around it, couches, Adirondack chairs, games and tables with umbrellas.
Most of the couches and seating areas face the ocean. The bar will include a hot dog stand by acvets.org and eventually food trucks, Erickson said. The bar serves food in partnership with Showboat, he said.
Phases 2 and 3 of the project will involve building and rebuilding the rest of the 55,000-square-foot pier.
An appearance by Jessie Chris of Radio Disney, giveaways and specials were featured at Friday’s celebration.
