PLEASANTVILLE — A man was shot and wounded early Wednesday, the second shooting in the city in less than a week.

About 12:15 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1300 block of Columbia Avenue near West Ashland Avenue, where they found the victim on the street, police Capt. Matt Hartman said.

The man was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus in Atlantic City, and was still hospitalized Wednesday afternoon.

Police did not identify the victim and released no further information.

On Friday afternoon, 24-year-old Marven Barreau, of Tuckerton, was shot and injured while driving in the city, police said.

Barreau was shot in the upper body near his shoulder while driving near the 300 block of Doughty Road. Police found the car he was driving crashed into a parked truck and a telephone pole after he was shot, police said.

Barreau was treated and released from AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus.
