Atlantic City police recovered a loaded handgun from a 16-year-old male Thursday night near Buzby Village, police said in a news release.

About 9 p.m., officers James Karins and Franco Sydnor responded to Buzby Village in the 4300 block of North Drive to investigate a report of a male selling drugs and in possession of a handgun.

The officers found a 16-year-old male with a loaded handgun, but no drugs were found. He was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and remanded to the Harborfields Detention Center.

A second male was with the juvenile arrested. He was searched by police and released.
