The family of a Mercer County man missing for more than a week has hired a helicopter to help in the search for the man in South Jersey, a family spokeswoman said Saturday.
East Windsor Township police have issued a Silver Alert for Phillips Brooks, 81, who disappeared from the township on April 4. An E-Z pass record indicates that he was in Cape May that night, police said.
Pam Parseghian, a family friend from Cranberry, said E-Z pass records also show Brooks was on the Atlantic City Expressway.
She said the helicopter search would include an area from the Garden State Parkway near Atlantic City and westward toward Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Brooks is white, 5'7", 150 lbs, and has blue eyes and gray hair on the sides of his head. He was last seen driving a red 2006 Subaru Forester wagon.
Brooks suffers from mild dementia, vertigo, and requires medications for numerous ailments.
