MIDDLE TOWNSHIP — Police are asking the public's help in locating a 50-year-old man who could be suicidal.

Township resident Michael Carty was last seen at 3:50 p.m. Sunday after making suicidal statements to his family, police said. He told them he would be found at the bottom of the bay, according to a news release.

Carty suffers from Huntington's Disease and has a history of attempting suicide, according to police. Six weeks ago, during his most recent suicide attempt, he was located in the woods in Bridgeton, the release said.

Police described Carty as a 6-foot bald white man weighing 200 pounds. He was last seen driving a white 2014 Chevy Cruze with New Jersey registration N40EUF.
