VINELAND — Police are searching for a man who robbed the Family Dollar Superstore at gunpoint Wednesday.

The robber made off with an undetermined amount of cash from the store, which is located on West Landis Avenue, police said.

Local authorities said the robber, who was last seen fleeing behind some buildings, should be approached with caution, as he is believed to still be armed with a handgun.

The man is described by police as about 5-feet 5-inches to 5-feet 10-inches tall and weighing about 150 to 200 pounds. He has little to no hair and some facial hair, police said.

The robber was last seen wearing a dark, striped hooded sweat jacket, police said. He also wore a dark hat with a light-colored emblem, they said.

City police said anyone with information about the incident can call Crime Stoppers at 856-691-0345, or Detective Angel Mercano at 856-691-4111, ext. 4313.
