Fishing boat sinks 20 miles off coast, three people missing

A fishing boat sank Wednesday night about 20 miles off the coast of Cape May, and the Coast Guard said it is looking for three people after rescuers found an empty life raft.
The Coast Guard said it received a distress signal at 7:35 p.m. from the electronic position indicating radio beacon belonging to the 44-foot fishing boat the Seatracker.

Barnegat man killed
in single-car accident
A 44-year-old Barnegat Township man was killed Wednesday evening when his car went off Wells Mills Road and hit a tree, police said.
A witness said the driver got off the Garden State Parkway and turned west onto Wells Mills Road at about 6:18 p.m. and then veered off to the left and hit a guard rail, crossed the road and hit a second guard rail and then continued straight for about 500 feet before going off the road and striking a tree, said investigating Detective Bill Sneddon.
The name of the victim, who was wearing a seat belt, was not released.

EHT man dies in crash
A 30 year-old Egg Harbor Township man died in a car accident Tuesday afternoon after he lost control of his car and crashed into two trees while trying to avoid another driver on the Black Horse Pike in Monroe Township, Gloucester County, according to Monroe Township police.
