Police ID man injured diving in Brigantine

BRIGANTINE - A man injured diving into shallow water near a jetty Saturday remained hospitalized Sunday, but his condition is unknown.

Brigantine police on Sunday identified the injured man as Justin Heydon, 21, of West Virginia.

On Saturday, the man sustained serious neck and back injuries after diving into shallow water near the south-end jetty, according to the Brigantine Beach Patrol.

Heydon was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus in Atlantic City. The hospital would not release information on Heydon's condition at the family's request.
