Juvenile sentencings for Nov. 15, 2009

The Press of Atlantic City covers high-profile juvenile cases, including murders, but also reports sentencing for other crimes, such as assaults, rapes, sexual assaults, armed robberies, arson and weapons offenses. The following juveniles' cases were recently handled in Family Court by Judge James L. Jackson.

Andrew Komorsky, 17,

Mays Landing

Charge: Theft

Crime: Komorsky stole more than $500 in property Sept. 14, 2007, in Atlantic City.

Punishment: Probation for a year. Must attend the Juvenile Victim Impact Program, pay restitution, obtain a General Education Diploma, or GED, submit to DNA typing and pay $45 in fines and penalties.

Jonathan Anderson Jr., 15, Vineland

Charge: Aggravated assault

Crime: Anderson assaulted an employee of the Department of Children and Families in Vineland on Aug. 2.

Punishment: Probation for six months. Must cooperate with the Department of Children and Families, pay restitution, have no contact with the victim, submit to DNA typing and pay $45 in fines and penalties.

Joshua Baals, 18,

Galloway Township

Charges: 12 counts of burglary

Crime: Baals broke into 12 motor vehicles in Galloway Township between Aug. 4 and 5.

Punishment: Probation for 18 months. Must attend outpatient substance-abuse treatment, submit to DNA typing and periodic urine monitoring, pay restitution and $375 in fines and penalties.

Thomas Lazar, 16, Ventnor

Charges: 7 counts of burglary

Crime: Lazar and a co-defendant unlawfully entered seven motor vehicles in Ventnor on Aug. 23.

Punishment: Probation for a year. Must submit to DNA typing and periodic urine monitoring, pay restitution, have no contact with the co-defendant, attend the Juvenile Victim Impact Program and pay $225 in fines and penalties.
