A 30 year-old Egg Harbor Township man died in a car accident Tuesday afternoon after he lost control of his car and crashed into two trees while trying to avoid another driver on the Black Horse Pike in Monroe Township, Gloucester County, according to Monroe Township police.
Joshua A. Goetz was driving east on Route 322 at about 5:20 p.m. when a second car pulled up from Karen Drive and stopped just before entering the highway, according to a police press release.
Goetz swerved left to avoid the other car, then made a hard right turn to avoid the westbound highway lane and lost control of his car, according to township police. The car spun around, traveled about 200 feet along the highway and roadway and crashed into the trees. Goetz was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Emergency workers determined he died of his injuries at 5:38 p.m., police said
Monroe Township police are still investigating the case and a motor vehicle summons may be issued to the second driver pending completion of the investigation, police said.
