Ventnor

State grant to pay

for Atlantic Ave. project

The city plans to use a $190,000 grant from the state Department of Transportation to pay for repairs on Atlantic Avenue between Dorset Avenue and the Atlantic City border.

The plan is to use the money to fix the two lanes on the ocean side of Atlantic, according to City Commissioner Stephen Weintrob. The street is one of the city's busiest, and officials say they've gotten a lot of complaints about its condition in the last few years.

The grant came from the DOT's municipal-aid program, city officials said.
