The talk will be held by Port Republic Mayor Gary Giberson and is titled "The Gift of White Cedar and a Recent Local Storm." The event is free and open to the public. For information, call June Sheridan, historical society chairwoman, at 609-927-8314.

Dancin' with the fishes

at next high school prom

Next year, township High School students will dance among the fishes, literally.

The Egg Harbor Township prom will change locations and move from the Wildwood Convention Center to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden. The event will be held June 5.

The School District discussed moving the prom date for several months because the schedule conflicted with crew competitions for some students. Superintendent Scott McCartney said the district initially moved the prom date but later had to change the venue due to the convention center's booking conflicts. McCartney said the new location will allow student athletes to continue competing and still go to the prom.
