Longport
Commission won't
meet this week
With the Borough Commission returning to its off-season schedule of one meeting per month, the governing body will not meet this week.
This month's meeting is set for Nov. 10. The Commission had planned to meet Nov. 18, the third Wednesday of this month, but announced the change to avoid a conflict with the New Jersey League of Municipalities convention in Atlantic City.
Next week's session is Longport's only Tuesday meeting of the year. The Commission's standard schedule calls for Wednesday-evening meetings.
The current commissioners, who were elected last year, cut back to one meeting per month from January through March this year. They also scheduled just one meeting again this month but left two on their calendar in December - on the first and third Wednesdays of the month - to take care of end-of-the-year matters as needed.
