Police arrested a Mullica Township man Thursday for blowing up his neighbor's mailbox on New Year's Day.
Kevin Anderson, 42, of Grape Avenue, allegedly built an improvised explosive device and instructed two juveniles to put it in the mailbox of a Melon Avenue resident, eventually detonating and destroying the box. No one was injured in the explosion.
A weeklong investigation between the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and Mullica police department revealed an ongoing dispute between the neighbors that led them to Anderson.
On Jan. 20, law enforcement used a search warrant at Anderson's home and arrested him on the White Horse Pike shortly after. The prosecutor's office anticipates more arrests.
Anderson was taken to Atlantic County Justice Facility Thursday night in lieu of $100,000 bail on charges of second-degree possession of a destructive device with the purpose to use it unlawfully against the property of another, three counts of conspiracy and third-degree possession of a prohibited destructive device.
