BRIGANTINE - A toddler who almost drowned at a local pool is doing well and "looks like she'll make a full recovery," police Capt. Ray Cox said Friday.

The 3½-year-old girl was vacationing with her parents at the Celebrity Resorts on Ocean Avenue on Wednesday when she was pulled from the pool not breathing. She was conscious when she was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, but she was there only briefly before being flown to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

On Friday, she was off the ventilator and responsive, Cox said.

The resort's pool - which had been closed since the incident - was open Friday, according to an employee there.

The investigation is complete, but the report is not, Cox said.
