PLEASANTVILLE - A local teen boy was shot Saturday night for the second time in two months, police said.
An Oak Tree Village resident called 911 at about 9:30 p.m. to report hearing gunfire at Clematis and Frambes avenues. No witnesses came forward to say they saw a shooting; many said they thought they heard firecrackers, Capt. Rocky Melendez said.
But the department got a call shortly afterward from AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, in Atlantic City, where a teen gunshot victim had just been dropped off by an unknown vehicle. Melendez said police believe the teenager was shot at Oak Tree Village.
The victim was shot at least twice, in the left arm and left upper torso, but his condition was not life-threatening, Melendez said. He remained in the hospital Monday.
Melendez did not identify the juvenile by name but said he was the same 17-year-old who was shot Aug. 21 - in the right forearm and right hip - on the unit block of Park Avenue.
Police arrested 27-year-old resident Adam Felder in that shooting, after finding him hiding with a gun under the porch of a nearby house. He is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, possession for an unlawful purpose, possession by a convicted felon and possession of a high-capacity magazine.
Felder's gun had a 30-round magazine, police said, which is legally available only to law enforcement. Normal 9mm guns carry no more than half that many rounds.
Felder was released on $100,000 bail Aug. 24. No court date was set.
