An 18-year-old Atlantic City man has been charged with the killings of two teenagers in Pleasantville last year.

The male’s name is not being released because he was 17 when the crime was committed in December, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain said.

The teen was arrested at 2 p.m. Thursday in Atlantic City in the killings of Taron Williams, 19, and Todd Mitchell, 13.

On December 5, 2012, Williams and Mitchell were found outside a home on the unit block of Woodland Avenue in Pleasantville. Mitchell was in front of the residence and Williams was in a rear alleyway.

Both teens had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where they were pronounced dead a short time later.

Following four months of investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Pleasantville Police Department, the 18-year-old was charged with two counts of murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and weapons offenses.

The defendant has been lodged at Harbor Fields Juvenile Detention Center in Egg Harbor City pending a hearing to waive him up to adult court.
