A 16-year-old male was wounded in a shooting in Atlantic City Sunday night.

The teen, whose name was not released due to his age, was shot in the leg about 9 p.m., while on the porch of his North Indiana Avenue home, Sgt. Monica McMenamin said.

The teen told Detective Franco Sydnor the shooter walked from the intersection at the Rev. JJ Walters Lane and started firing at him.

The victim ran to a friend's home in the 1800 block of Walters Lane and called police, according to the report. As he was running, he said, he felt pain in his left leg, where he was struck by a bullet.

He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, where the bullet was removed and he was released.

Spent shell casings were found at the crime scene There was damage to a building in the 500 block of Indiana Avenue, McMenamin said.

On Saturday night, a cellphone was taken in an armed robbery in the 1800 block of Walters Lane. Abdul Bailey, 20, was arrested and charged with armed robbery, conspiracy and theft.
