The Federal Emergency Management Authority has opened a second Disaster Recovery Center at the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing.

The center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. Specialists will be on hand to help residents with their hurricane recovery issues.

If possible, residents should first register with FEMA and get a case number, FEMA spokesman Michael McCormack said. With that number, the center can talk with a specialist about specific issues.

There are three ways to apply for FEMA assistance: online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, via smartphone at m.fema.gov or by phone at 800-621-3362. People with speech or hearing disabilities may call TTY 800-462-7585.

Other area centers remain open, including sites at the Atlantic City Convention Center, Cape May Court House library and the Public Safety Building in Bridgeton.
