A Galloway Township police officer was injured after she ran after a man who fled from a vehicle stop on Route 30 on Sunday, officials said.

Police Officer Jacqueline Crocker, who stopped the vehicle on Route 30 and Avenue A at about 1 p.m., ran through the woods in pursuit of Nicholas Iaconis, 25, of Galloway Township, whom she had discovered was wanted by the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department on a drug charge, police said.

Crocker, who caught and arrested Iaconis near Xanthus Avenue, had to be treated at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus in Galloway Township for a cut on her left hand, police said. She later was released.

Iaconis was charged with resisting arrest. He was held in Atlantic County jail on $25,000 cash bond.
