Hamilton Township experienced some flooding but Mayor Roger Silva said damage is minimal.
"For now I think we were very fortunate," he said."It passed over us and we had low to moderate flooding."
Silva said the eye of the storm passed over the township so the municipality received little rain comparatively and had wins from 40 mph to 65 mph.
Silva reports the worst flooding so far is River Road, Pierce Avenue and the Lenape shopping plaza.
The township has done a lot of work in the past few years to repair faulty basins in the area and Silva said it appears many of them worked well.
Work by the township to lower the water levels at Lake Lenape was successful and did help, he said.
The township is working now to assess the amount of damage, he said.
