Hamilton Township authorities extinguished an attic fire at a residence Friday afternoon.
Police and firefighters from the Mays Landing and Cologne Fire Departments, responded to a home on the 4900 block of Denbigh Court at 2:19 p.m. for a fire in the attic.
Firefighters found the owner A.J. Mahmoud, 50, and Russ Armitage, 64, a maintenance worker, inside trying to extinguish the blaze.
They were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by the Hamilton Township Rescue Squad.
The cause of the fire does not appear suspicious, police said.
