The week is expected to begin and end with light snow.

The National Weather Service is projecting about an inch and a half of snow between midnight and 6 a.m. Tuesday, meteorologist Dean Iovine said. The region could also see some snow flurries Tuesday night.

The area has had multiple small snowstorms in the last several days but none — with the exception of Friday’s storm in Cape May County that reached up to seven inches in some places — had very high accumulation.

Iovine said the jet stream over the area is moving quickly and thus the storms do not have much time to pick up moisture and provide more snow.

The middle of the week should be dry with high temperatures in the 40s Fahrenheit, but another mix of rain and snow could fall Thursday night, Iovine said, noting it’s too early to predict accumulation.
