GALLOWAY-- An Egg Harbor City resident was arrested and charged with criminal mischief after posting a picture of himself on top of a police car on social media on March 24.

Police received a picture of Corey Herold, 24, “perched on the hood” of a patrol car, “with his hands in the air giving the camera the middle finger.”

Police said the photo was posted to Herold’s Instagram account, with the caption, “This I do when I get tipsy #copcars #coolkid #yolo.”

The photograph was taken when the car was left unattended as police responded to a disturbance reported at Tailgater’s Sports Bar and Grill.

Due to Herold’s actions, the hood of the car is scratched, police said.

Herold was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, and was released on summons pending a future court date.
