Frederick A. Coville, MD, has been an aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon for more than 20 years.

Dr. Coville approached me in June about joining our practices together. His business is foundational beauty. He wanted a nutritionist to help people take care of themselves.

I help people to eat right and keep their weight down.

When people want surgery with him — perhaps liposuction, stem-cell facelift or a chemical peel — he may often say, “I want you to get your weight down a little bit, so see Nancy.” He sometimes likes to get the weight off people first so they get a better result.

Or I might recommend someone to him if they’ve already lost weight and perhaps their skin is sagging.

He specializes in the Jersey Shore Butt Lift, and also offers botox and Restylane treatments.

We also have a masseuse, Irina Venezia. She works with the doctor on medical facials. The patient will see the doctor first and then get the appropriate medical facial.

I focus on weight control for my clients, and also handle acne and digestion issues, and I take care of athletes.

I teach clients how to live, not how to diet. That involves a weekly one-on-one visit with me and keeping a food journal. That keeps them accountable to themselves and to me.

I do a weekly television segment on NBC-TV 40 called “Better Living with Adrienne,” and I’m on the “The Front Porch with Barbara Altman” weekly on WOND 1400-AM.

I’ve written a cookbook called “Nancy’s Recipes for Life,” and I’ve also created my own line of protein products, which are available in my office — protein bars, shakes and snacks, made exclusively for me by a company in California.

Entry: I started 14 years ago. I owned a hair salon and my husband was in the field of fitness. Little by little I became interested in it, and decided to get my certifications and go into business.

I started out of my house with five clients. I took a chance and shut down my salon, and was very successful.

The future: I intend to write a second cookbook and add to my line of protein products, as well as start a line of vitamins.
