ROQ Star Salon does everything except for nails.

I do extensions, color, keratin treatments, cutting and styling. We do ethnic hair and we do all kinds of hair.

Extensions are very popular right now, as well as keratin treatments.

Extensions are made of real hair and we attach them to your existing hair.

We do sew-ins or glued, and we have a new way we do it called micro beads. The hair is on beads and sewn into your hair.

Women use extensions to add length and fullness. They might do different colors for accents.

Keratin is infused on your hair. Then we blow dry it and flat iron it. It eliminates frizz and leaves the hair silky and shiny. That’s one of the best products that’s out there.

I use Matrix products and Pravana color.

Big hair is popular. Curls are in. We call them Kim Kardashian curls. Those are very popular.

We also offer haircuts and styling for men and children.

A keratin treatment starts at $75 for short hair, and can go up to about $200, depending on the length and thickness of the hair. The keratin is fairly expensive.

A wash, cut and blow dry for women is usually about $40, but can be higher depending on the length and thickness of the hair.

Men’s haircuts cost $15.

Our hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

Entry: I’ve been doing salon and beauty treatments for 14 years. I used to work for a salon in Hammonton, which originated in Egg Harbor City. I’m in the building now where that salon started.

I went to the county vocational-technical school and trained in cosmetology there. As soon as I graduated, I started doing salon work.

Opening my own salon has always been my dream. The past two years I was thinking about it and getting my courage up. Then I went through the buildings in town that had for-rent signs, found this one and went from there.

The future: I have a special right now for Easter. For the month of March, color, highlights and blow dry are $99. That has a value of about $140.
