A Margate man was charged with three daytime burglaries in Somers Point, all of which have occurred since May 21,  police said.

David Sheppard 39, of Margate allegedly used his landscaping job as an opportunity to break into homes while the owners were away, Police Chief Michael Boyd said.

Boyd said Sheppard allegedly stole money, jewelry and clothing from the homes.

Sheppard was charged with three counts of burglary and three counts of theft.
