EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — A Linwood man driving a motorcycle was seriously injured Saturday night after he crashed into a tree in the Scullville section, police said.

At 11:19 p.m., police responded to the crash at Ocean Heights Avenue and Clayton Court, where William Anderson, 31, lost control of the motorcycle, hit a curb, slid on the sidewalk and crashed into a tree, police said.

Anderson was driving the 2001 Suzuki motorcycle east on Ocean Heights Avenue before the crash.

The Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad and AtlantiCare paramedics treated Anderson at the scene for serious injuries. He was taken to the trauma center at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, police said.

The eastbound section of Ocean Heights Avenue was closed for about two hours during the investigation, which is ongoing.
