The Galloway Township Business Association has come up with a festive new event highlighting a slice of local commerce, the Taste of Galloway.

From 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, residents and visitors will be able to sample the culinary creations of Galloway Township restaurants, caterers, bakeries and wineries.

The Taste of Galloway will be held at Historic Smithville Village on Route 9 in the township and will also feature a Galloway Farmer’s Market and a “Get Involved Galloway” area with exhibits by local nonprofits, clubs and churches.

Entertainment will be provided in a “Gami Got Talent” cabaret featuring students and alumni of Absegami High School.

“This is a terrific opportunity for our food-related businesses in town to showcase their specialties and a great way for residents to become reacquainted with their town favorites and try some of the new restaurants as well,” Mary Crawford, president of the Galloway Township Business Association, said in a statement. “Our focus is to make this a real locals event — local food, local talent, as well as our community groups, will all be here.”

Taste of Galloway is sponsored by Cape Bank and Royal Suites Healthcare & Rehabilitation.

The Galloway Township Business Association is a nonprofit organization of local companies and businesspeople that promotes the interests of the township business community through networking opportunities, governmental advocacy, professional development forums and targeted consumer promotional efforts.
