Nurses to picket Shore Medical Center June 9 over ongoing contract dispute
Registered nurses at Shore Medical Center are planning to picket the hospital from 1 to 3 p.m. June 9 in the latest development of their contract negotiations.
The more than 400 registered nurses at Shore have been working without a contract since the end of 2011. Negotiations have been ongoing since November. Their three-year contract expired Dec. 31.
In early May, the nurses voted to continue being represented by the New York State Nurses Association.
