Traffic is lining up on Route 72 east as Ship Bottom restaurant owners are being brought back onto Long Beach Island to start cleanups.

Cars are being stopped by police at a checkpoint before they are able to proceed over the Route 72 Causeway.

Officials from Ship Bottom have announced that restaurant owners will be allowed on the island between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. today to clear out spoiled food and inspect their buildings.

On Sunday, other Ship Bottom commercial business owners will be allowed into their shops from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

It is still undetermined when homeowners will be allowed back on the island.
