Seven people were arrested by the Somers Point police for possession and distribution of drugs.

After a four-month investigation, the police department arrested the seven unrelated individuals, said Chief Michael Boyd.

Terrence Jones, 24, and Michael Banks, 28, of Somers Point were charged with possession and distribution of heroin in public housing. Dakens Exantus, 23, of Galloway, was charged with possession and distribution of heroin and cocaine in a park zone. Ray Gerald, Jr., 24, of Absecon, and Patrick Fenske, 23, of Mays Landing, along with Jones were charged with possession and distribution of a CDS in a school zone. Terron Henderson, 27, of Somers Point was charged with possession, and Ashely Weir, 20, also of Somers Point, was charged with conspiracy to distribute in a school zone.

Detectives Roy Gandy and Robert Gray were the lead officers in the case, Boyd said. As most cases with drug distribution, the officers frequently interviewed people to find out who is selling, Boyd said.
