A local theater company will celebrate its 30 years of performances with a special event and debut film project at Dante Hall on Saturday.
The South Jersey Theatre Ensemble will hold two shows at Dante Hall, at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday. There will be performances from previous shows and the premiere a film titled “Don’t Throw Me Away” — a 40-minute film about an African American boy who struggles with academics.
The Rev. James Brown, the film’s writer and producer, said this is the company’s first film and they wanted to do it on a subject that affects many young children in the community.
