GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — Police arrested three people and seized a loaded handgun Friday night.

Officers went to the 1000 block of West White Horse Pike after a report of threats with a gun, but the suspect vehicle had fled the scene, Lt. Paul Dooner said.

Officer Dan Weigle spotted the vehicle on Morton Avenue. K9 Officer Kevin Welsh and Officer Gary Brenner conducted a high-risk stop, during which they found a handgun and drugs inside.

Anthony Canizzaro and Nicole Fichetola, both 30 and of Galloway, and Luiz Velez, 39, of Vineland, were charged with possession of a handgun, possession of hollowpoint ammunition, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphenalia.

Canizzaro and Velez were also charged with possession of a weapon by certain persons not to have weapons. Canizzaro was arrested Sept. 21, and charged with possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Canizzaro and Velez are now jailed on $150,000 bail at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Fichetola's bail is $50,000.

The case is currently being investigated by Detective Ryan Goehringer and additional charges may be pending. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Goehringer at 609-652-3705, ext. 320.
