Tip411 text leads to arrest of New York man in Atlantic City By LYNDA COHEN, Staff Writer The Press of Atlantic City Media Group
An anonymous tip texted to Atlantic City police led to the arrest of a man wanted out of New York.
The message to Tip411 said the man would be at the Showboat Casino Hotel for a poker tournament, Sgt. Monica McMenamin said.
The tip proved true, and police arrested Omar Ghanim, 32, on Tuesday night.
Tip411, or 847411, allows people to anonymously text tips to police. A two-way conversation is possible without revealing the tipster’s identity.
Texts must begin with ACPD to get to Atlantic City.
