The state Department of Transportation will close lanes next week at the White Horse Pike and Pomona Road in an effort to finish long-awaited construction.
Beginning Monday the pike will be closed to one lane in each direction between Xanthus Avenue and Augustus Avenue - to the east of Pomona Road - for approximately one month to construct a new culvert underneath the roadway.
The two lanes on each direction should resume by Wednesday.
The DOT approved a two year $6.5 million project to improve safety and add left turn signals onto Pomona Road. The work is scheduled to be complete by the fall but residents have been waiting for the work to be complete.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for construction updates and real-time travel information
